The Two Primary Factors of Binding Quality:

1. Quality of Leather

The types of material used affect (a) the aesthetics, (b) the feel, and (c) the durability of the Bible. When choosing leathers from around the world, we use only those that possess all three qualities. Particularly with natural grain leathers, each is so unique that no two have the same appearance. Natural anomalies such as scars, wrinkles, variation of hue or depth, or other irregularities are not considered defects. Instead, they are regarded as organic features and are what make each Bible special.

2. The Binding Process

From selecting the best cut from the hide, to the detail features, to attaching the cover to the book block, each part of the binding process is handcrafted to precision.

We apply edge-lined casing, which is a specialized process that can be accomplished only by hand. One advantage of this process is that the binding is extremely durable and flexible. And, because each is individually hand-made, it creates a one-of-a-kind characteristic. We are so confident in the workmanship that we guarantee the binding for a lifetime.*

Note: No animals were slaughtered for purposes of obtaining hides. All included leathers are a by-product of other industries such as food.
